Bradford Cox Books First Show in Seven Years

Music

Bradford Cox, the mercurial Deerhunter mastermind, is set to return to the stage for the first time in years at Making Time ∞ festival. After a long retreat from the public eye—interrupted only by a seemingly ad hoc noise show at a vintage market in Georgia in 2023—Cox has reanimated Atlas Sound for a live set at the Philadelphia weekender, which runs from September 18 to 20 at Fort Mifflin. You can catch Atlas Sound’s performance at 4:30 p.m. that Sunday.

Deerhunter and Atlas Sound appear to have been on unannounced hiatuses since 2019, the year the former band released Why Hasn’t Everything Already Disappeared?, the latter did a one-off set at Desert Daze, and, last but not least, Cox walked a runway for Gucci. No further details on his recent activity or future plans were forthcoming.
