It’s been 25 years since 9/11 changed the very fabric of not just New York City, but the entire country.
And for Pete Davidson, it also means it’s been over two decades since his father Scott Davidson died while responding to the attacks.
“He was a firefighter for Ladder 118, Engine 205 in Brooklyn Heights,” Pete shared in a video for 9/11 Day. “My dad loved being a fireman, and he loved saving people, as he did on that day.”
And as the Saturday Night Live alum approached this milestone, he considered how to best honor his dad’s legacy—which led him to 9/11 Day and its UNIITE For Good campaign.
“9/11 is usually a tough day, but this organization, 9/11 Day, does something cool where you do a good deed for someone and you pass it along,” Pete explained. “You try to make the day a little bit lighter.”
