Comedian Carrot Top Receiving “Care and Support” After Being Hospitalized In Las Vegas
Carrot Top‘s condition is improving.
As the comedian (real name Scott Thompson) continues to receive medical attention after being hospitalized in Las Vegas Sept. 18, his rep confirmed how he is doing.
“Scott remains hospitalized and under close medical care,” the rep said in a statement to TMZ Sept. 20. “He is now awake, breathing on his own and continuing to improve, surrounded by his family and those closest to him.”
His rep added that the 61-year-old has been joking around with the “medical staff caring for him” and that he has been reading the “many messages from fans” from over the last several days.
Carrot Top, according to the rep, has been sent “stories from people about how his comedy helped them through difficult periods in their own lives,” which in turn are helping him now.
“Hearing those stories and feeling that support has meant a great deal to him during his recovery,” his rep shared. “Scott and his family remain deeply grateful for the extraordinary kindness and continue to ask that his privacy be respected.”
