Rihanna has a special way of making everyone in her orbit shine bright like a diamond.
And during the 2026 Met Gala on May 4, the “Umbrella” singer sprinkled some of that fairy dust onto Today’s Sheinelle Jones, who was interviewing celebrities on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
“You deserve to be poured into,” Rihanna told Sheinelle while holding her hand, as seen in a clip shared by Today. “And you’re beautiful, you’re a Black journalist. And I respect you. I love you for this.”
But the compliments didn’t end there. As the 38-year-old continued her way up the museum steps, she added, “By the way your outfit is f–king fire.”
After all, not only did Sheinelle’s custom Lafayette 148 gown—designed by Emily Smith—fit her like a glove, but the sparkling, jeweled fabric caused her to literally shine bright like a diamond.
Following the heartfelt interaction, Sheinelle shared a snap with Rihanna which saw the pair smiling and holding each other close across the steps’ barriers.
