Kering & London college of fashion partner for new programme

2024 marks the 10th anniversary of Kering’s partnership with the London College of Fashion’s Centre for Sustainable Fashion. In only a decade, the academic agreement enabled the launch of the Kering x CSF graduate programme, exclusively offered at the LCF, as well as the Fashion Values MOOC. Building upon the previous course offering, the new programme will span over 3 years, and will train future decision-makers in the fashion industry to develop sustainable governance models.

Sustainability, collaboration, and creativity are core pillars of Kering’s vision for the future of luxury. Through its various academic contributions, the Group aims to offer comprehensive trainings that provide students with the tools to place sustainability at the core of an organization’s strategy.

Kering and the London College of Fashion have unveiled a dynamic 3-year programme.
Centered on sustainable governance, it equips budding fashion leaders with interdisciplinary expertise and a focus on the “3Is” of sustainability.
Marie-Claire Daveu emphasizes the transformative power of education in shaping a sustainable future for the fashion industry.

To achieve long term sustainability goals across industries, the new Kering x CSF programme will shape future board members to bring Rockstrom et al.’s  interspecies, intergenerational and intragenerational justice, otherwise known as the “3Is”, into governance teams. They will be able to conduct research through an interdisciplinary lens, exchange knowledge with researchers by joining a youth board and develop industry-specific skills.

“The only way to train people truly and effectively is to work closely with schools and universities to build a comprehensive approach on sustainability issues. In fact, Kering and LCF’s long-standing collaboration is focused on harnessing the power of education and creativity in support of our planet. We share the same vision on empowering young talents and encouraging the next generation of fashion professionals to place sustainability at the heart of their future careers”, comments Marie-Claire Daveu, Chief Sustainability and Institutional Affairs Officer of Kering.
