After being accused of sexual assault in three different lawsuits filed this month, Sean “Diddy” Combs is temporarily stepping down as chairman of Revolt, TMZ reports and a representative for the musician confirmed to Pitchfork.

Diddy co-founded Revolt in 2013. On social media, the media company shared the following statement:

Sean Combs has stepped down from his position as Chairman of REVOLT.

While Mr. Combs has previously had no operational or day-to-day role in the business, this decision helps to ensure that REVOLT remains steadfastly focused on our mission to create meaningful content for the culture amplify the voices of all Black people throughout this country and the African diaspora.

Our focus has always been one that reflects our commitment to the collective journey of REVOLT — one that is not driven by any individual, but by the shared efforts and values of our entire team on behalf of advancing, elevating and championing our culture – and that continues.

Diddy was sued earlier this month by the singer Cassie, who alleged that the musician and hip-hop mogul subjected her to years of sexual and physical abuse. Diddy’s lawyer, Ben Brafman, denied Cassie’s allegations, and the lawsuit was settled within days of its filing. The attorney said that the settlement “does not in any way undermine [Diddy’s] flat-out denial of the claims.”

Diddy is facing two active lawsuits from women who also accuse him of sexual assault. In one lawsuit, Joi Dickerson-Neal claims that Diddy drugged and sexually assaulted her in 1991; she also says that Diddy filmed the alleged assault without her consent. In the other lawsuit, a woman identified as Jane Doe says that Diddy and the R&B singer Aaron Hall sexually assaulted her and a friend in the early 1990s.

A spokesperson for Diddy has said the women’s lawsuits contain “fabricated claims falsely alleging misconduct from over 30 years ago.”
