Harry Jowsey and Rylee Arnold are playing coy about those ongoing dating rumors.
The “Dancing With the Stars” duo gave some insight into what their relationship is like outside of rehearsals while speaking to Page Six in the ballroom Tuesday night.
“I think it’s unfair on Rylee to put, like, pressure on this when it’s her first season,” Jowsey said in response to all the inquiries they’ve been getting about their potential spark in real life.
“And, you know, whatever’s going on behind the scenes is gonna go on behind the scenes.”
Fans on social media have been calling Jowsey, 26, and Arnold, 18, “couple goals” ever since “DWTS” announced they’d be paired together on Season 32 of the dance competition series.
Romance rumors were fueled even further last week when a video of the two holding hands while making their way through a packed crowd inside Los Angeles’ Hollywood Palladium went viral.
“I just think that we’re trying to focus on the dancing and get good at it, and everyone’s got all crazy theories,” the “Too Hot to Handle” alum said.
“That video does look pretty wild but we got pushed into a corner. We were trying to get out of this concert. But, yeah, I don’t know. We’re just focusing on the dance and just enjoying being together and if something happens, something happens.”
When asked to clarify whether the concert outing was “a date” or a “group hang,” the two looked at each other and burst into laughter.
“Yes, just a group hang,” a giggly Arnold stated, shrugging her shoulders and adding, “I don’t know.”
While Jowsey and Arnold didn’t give a solid confirmation or denial as to whether sparks are flying outside the ballroom, the two certainly wouldn’t be the first pair to experience a “DWTS” showmance.
Nearly every season, fans can’t seem to help themselves from “shipping” a couple to date in real life – based solely on their onscreen chemistry.
Luckily, Rylee’s older sister, former mirrorball champion Lindsay Arnold, and other pros gave her some guidance on how to handle the constant attention.
“I feel like just staying focused on the dancing and just having fun together,” she said of the advice she’s received. “And just kind of letting it run its course and just see where it goes.”
During Tuesday’s “Motown Night,” Jowsey and Rylee performed a Foxtrot to “Easy” by the Commodores, receiving a total score of 24/40 from judges Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli and guest judge Michael Strahan.
Jowsey appeared a bit emotional while hearing the judges provide him with unanimously positive feedback this week.
“This has just been such a pressing week and there was a lot that weighed on it. The Foxtrot’s not easy, and to hear all the judges say nice things, it kind of hit me a little bit,” the reality star explained.
“Because I feel like I’m doing the worst dance ever in the history of the earth and then for them to say nice things … they earned their stripes and they’re giving me my flowers,” he continued. “It just hit me a little bit and then I was like, ‘Damn, we just did that! That’s really, really cool.’”
As a first-time pro this season, Rylee added that it was “really great” to hear that kind of feedback from the judges so early on in the competition.
“I honestly just feel for Harry and I just want him to do his very best,” she said. “To go out there and just be proud of himself. So as long as he’s feeling good and we’re doing good together, it just makes me really happy.”
“Dancing With the Stars,” co-hosted by Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough, airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC and Disney+, with episodes streaming the following day on Hulu.
