Oneohtrix Point Never has shared the first single from Again, his upcoming studio album due out September 29 via Warp. Titled “A Barely Lit Path,” the new song arrives with a music video directed by Freeka Tet about a pair of anthropomorphized crash test dummies on a road trip gone wrong. Check it out below.

“A Barely Lit Path” finds Oneohtrix Point Never returning to strings, this time using an orchestra conducted and arranged by Robert Ames and performed by the NOMAD Ensemble. The song serves as Again’s climactic closer, where the tracklist clocks in with 13 songs total. The follow-up to 2020’s Magic Oneohtrix Point Never is described as “a speculative autobiography” akin to the concept behind 2015’s Garden of Delete.

After scoring the Safdie brothers film Uncut Gems, Oneohtrix Point Never served as the musical director of the Weeknd’s 2021 Super Bowl halftime show and was the executive producer for the Weeknd’s 2022 album Dawn FM. He also produced Soccer Mommy’s 2022 album, Sometimes Forever, and contributed to Weyes Blood’s And in the Darkness, Hearts Aglow.
