Bre Tiesi said she is “devastated to lose” Heather Rae Young on “Selling Sunset” after the “Flipping El Moussas” star revealed she was demoted in Season 7 of the Netflix show.
“I absolutely adore Heather,” Tiesi, 32, told E! News in an interview Thursday. “I’m very sad to hear that she is not going to be as big a part. … We got really close.”
Young, who welcomed son Tristan with husband Tarek El Moussa in January, previously shared on Instagram that she had filmed “a little bit” for the upcoming season before going on maternity leave.
However, Tiesi noted that she does not have any more details on her co-star’s involvement.
“They kinda keep us separate from all of that,” she said.
Tiesi, who joined the cast during the real estate series’ sixth season, admitted that she struggled with returning without her closest castmate.
“When I was [filming] with [Young], I kind of had all my time with her, and I was kind of focused on her, and I was still postpartum,” she explained, referencing the June 2022 arrival of her and Nick Cannon’s son, Legendary.
“We were really able to connect on that because she was about to go through that,” Tiesi added of Young, who was an expectant mother at the time.
Tiesi explained that she “transitioned” her friendships on the show amid Young’s absence.
“It does obviously kind of put you in a different position to be with the other girls when someone isn’t around as much, so you naturally just start gravitating to the girls and bonding,” she said.
“So I think it definitely transitioned my relationships.”
Young, 35, surprised fans when she revealed in March that Netflix had not asked her to return for Season 7 of the reality show.
“I’ve been off maternity leave, and I’ve been excited to get back to work, and so far I have not been called back,” she told E! News at the time.
Young had starred in the show — which follows the drama surrounding the Oppenheim Group in Los Angeles — since it premiered in 2019.
Young has since pivoted to another reality show, this time starring her husband, El Moussa.
“The Flipping El Moussas” premiered on HGTV in March and follows the couple as they flip houses and start their own family journey in their new home.
Young and El Moussa, 41, have been romantically linked since July 2019 and tied the knot in October 2021.
She subsequently became a stepmother to the “Flop or Flop” star’s daughter, Taylor, 12, and son Brayden, 7, whom he shares with ex-wife Christina Hall.

The pair announced in July 2022 that they were expecting their first baby together after Young documented her fertility journey on social media.
Young admitted in a March Instagram post that she was having “a really tough time” leaving her son to return to work while “kinda off maternity leave.”
“I was excited to see my SS girls and get back into the swing of things & dress up & get glammed. I was filled in on all the drama since I’ve been gone,” she added.
Tiesi commented at the time, “We got this! Love u.”
