Anthony Anderson and his mom, Doris “Mama Doris” Hancox, test their bond in E!’s new reality show “Trippin’ With Anthony Anderson and Mama Doris.”
The unscripted series follows Anderson, 52, and Mama Doris, 67, as they embark on a six-week excursion through England, France and Italy to discover Europe’s rich history — and possibly more about each other despite being incredibly close.
“I’m Anthony Anderson and I just returned from the ultimate European road trip with my mother,” the “Black-ish” star says in a preview that dropped Thursday.
“I took her on this trip of a lifetime to say thank you for all she’s sacrificed and done for me.”
While the duo has plenty of fun across the pond, tensions also flare.

“He makes my ass hurt,” Mama Doris laments at one point, while Anderson jokes that he is “crazy” for planning such an extensive getaway with his mother.
However, a highlight for viewers will be Mama Doris’ one-liners that prove she is just as funny as her comedian son.
“Where his d–k at?” she asks upon the sight of a nude model at a painting class. Later, Mama Doris steps in to quell chaos backstage at what appears to be a fashion show.
“Booty and tits over here, follow me,” she directs, observing even more nude models.
Elsewhere, Mama Doris is pressed with personal questions she may not be inclined to answer.
“How did you lose your virginity?” a European lady casually asks her over a glass of wine.
While Mama Doris seems to catch chickens in the countryside with ease, she hits her breaking point when she feels unsafe in a tiny open-air vehicle rumbling over uneven cobblestone streets of a busy city.
“Stop, stop! I’m getting the hell out,” she asserts. “F—k this.”
In a separate — and smoother — car scene, Mama Doris tells Anderson there is “a whole lot of s—t” he has yet to learn about her.
No matter if Anderson was willing to dig deeper with Mama Doris, he says in the clip that he was prepared to “give her the most luxurious … and maybe some not so luxurious” experiences abroad.
Still, he quips, “This may have been the best or worst decision of my life.”
