The band performed “The Rat” on The Late Show ahead of their upcoming reunion concerts

The Walkmen will begin their 2023 reunion tour on April 24 with shows at New York’s Webster Hall. Tonight, they delivered their first performance in 10 years with an appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. The band performed “The Rat” from 2004’s “Bows and Arrows.” Watch it happen below.

The band offered a statement in advance of the Colbert performance: “Ever since we started the Walkmen, we’ve done everything by the seat of our pants. We don’t ‘plan’ much. So during our Zoom ‘planning’ meeting, we decided the best way to play together for the very first time would be on national television without a single rehearsal.” They clarified that it would be their first performance in 10 years. “I guess there will be a soundcheck but we don’t even know if this equipment works.”

The band’s tour includes dates in Philadelphia, Chicago, Washington, D.C., and Atlanta’s Shaky Knees Festival.
