The OG of the OC is just OK, according to Bravo superfan Kate Chastain.
“Vicki Gunvalson, I don’t get it. I’m sorry,” the “Traitors” star, 40, says on Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” podcast, explaining why she thinks Gunvalson, 60, is the most “overrated” “Real Housewife.”
“I just feel like she’s always angry and always screaming.”
Chastain’s assessment is largely based on Gunvalson’s performance on Peacock’s “Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Ex-Wives Club,” which was filmed in the fall of 2021 at Dorinda Medley’s Bluestone Manor estate in the Berkshires and finished airing last year.
At the time, the “Real Housewives of Orange County” alum — who made her reality TV debut in 2006 — was reeling from her messy breakup with now-ex-fiancé Steve Lodge, impacting her behavior.
Castmate Brandi Glanville told Page Six in June 2022 that Gunvalson was a “bitch” during production, placing blame on the split.
“I wanted to die,” Gunvalson told us the following October. “I mean, I was that depressed. So, I did a lot of soul-searching, a lot of journaling. I read my Bible daily. I reflect back on it as a season.”
Gunvalson, who has since moved on with boyfriend Michael, is currently in Marrakech, Morocco, where she is filming “Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip” Season 4. (She has also filmed for the upcoming season of “RHOC,” though she is not a full-time cast member nor “friend of.”)
With her love tank full again, Chastain hopes the Coto Insurance founder can “whoop it up” once more for viewers.
“I mean, I’m happy for her that she’s now going to Marrakech for a redo because, you know, she was vulnerable at that time in Bluestone Manor,” the “Below Deck” alum says. “So, hopefully after this new ‘Girls Trip,’ I will change my opinion.”
However, Chastain asserts, “But as it stands, Vicki needs to change her vibe.”
The expectant single mom — who announced her pregnancy in December 2022 — was asked to share her most “overrated” “Real Housewife” after her “Traitors” co-star Reza Farahan named Kyle Richards on a recent “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” appearance.
The admission later incited a heated social media feud with the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” veteran, 54, poking fun at Farahan, 49, for the 2022 cancellation of his Bravo reality show, “Shahs of Sunset,” and his one-episode stint on “The Traitors.”
In response, Farahan took a dig at Richards’ strained relationship with sisters Kathy Hilton and Kim Richards.
“My show was canceled and I was killed 1st on traitors, but my siblings and all my cast mates still take my calls,” he wrote in an Instagram comment. “How are @kathyhilton and @kimrichards11 doing @kylerichards18?”
Chastain says she “watched the whole thing go down” with glee.
“When I saw Kyle clapped back, I was like, ‘She watches “Traitors”?’ So thank you for that, Kyle Richards. And I thought [Farahan’s] clap-back was … great. I was so happy for him,” she tells us.
“When he got asked that question, he said, ‘This is going to get me in trouble.’ He knew. And you know what? He had the courage to go forward with it and I think it was hilarious.”
