Teresa Giudice gushed that Andy Cohen’s love love love for her hair helped her get through fans poking fun at her larger-than-life wedding hair.
“I think the hair was fabulous,” Giudice, 50, told Page Six at her Rose Box NYC event in New York City on Wednesday. “Andy texted me the next day, ‘he’s like I loved the hair!”
The “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star added that Cohen’s appreciation of the hairstyle was “all I needed to hear.”
“Andy loving it so much makes me love it even more,” Giudice gushed.
Giudice added that she’s never been afraid to “stand out and be different and unique,” although for her special day, she “swears” she “wasn’t even trying” to do that.
The “Skinny Italian” author turned heads when she walked down the aisle wearing a twisted half-up look inside of an enormous crown that totaled $10,000 and 1,500 bobby pins for her Aug. 6 wedding to Luis “Louie” Ruelas.
“As we know, my girl Teresa is the queen of Jersey, so we needed hair that was fit for a queen,” her hairstylist Lucia Casazza said on Cohen’s Sirius XM radio show at the time. “You go big or you go home. [Teresa] said, ‘My hair has to be over the top.’”
Giudice’s wedding look inspired several Halloween costumes and dupes – including none other than Kelly Ripa who replicated the look for the “Live with Kelly and Ryan” Halloween special.
The “Real Housewives of New York City” alum Bethenny Frankel also chimed in and applauded Giudice for staying true to herself.
“She knows where she came from, she is an Italian broad from Jersey,” Frankel said on an August episode of her “Just B with Bethenny Frankel” podcast. “She got her hair done from her Jersey hairstylist and she’s the same Teresa that walked in with the cash to pay for the furniture, so yes, I am here for it, I want more.”
“So, I love the fact that Teresa is now with this long sort of massive … crown hairdo, with this lavish elaborate party that is a circus, that her dress is so ornate, it’s over-the-top — like good for her.”
Giudice and Ruelas tied the knot at Park Chateau in East Brunswick, NJ on Aug. 6, and fans will get a behind-the-scenes look at her nuptials on her upcoming Bravo wedding special.
