“Everybody I have cared for has either died or left me,” Ellie tells Joel in the footage. We’ll avoid spoilers, but in the series, Joel has been tasked with transporting Ellie safely through the treacherous circumstances—with often very deadly results.

The footage also gives a glimpse of Nick Offerman, who plays Bill, a post-pandemic survivalist who lives in an isolated town with Frank, played by Murray Bartlett.
