Post Malone is back. The rapper and singer has released his new album Twelve Carat Toothache. Malone’s fourth studio LP includes contributions from Fleet Foxes, the Weeknd, Doja Cat, Roddy Ricch, producer Louis Bell, Gunna, and more. Take a listen to Post Malone’s new album below. Malone released the first single from Twelve Carat Toothache, “One Right Now,” back in November 2021. In an interview with Billboard’s Lyndsey Havens not long after the single’s release, Malone said that the songs on his album “speak more to how [he’s] feeling at the moment: the ups and downs and the disarray and the bipolar aspect of being an artist in the mainstream.” More recently, the musician discussed the genesis of the album with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1:

It was 12 hours in Malibu that I sat by myself in this dark room with my laptop and just made beats. Like, for 12 hours. Did a bunch of mushrooms, made beats. And I was, “Whoa, this is awesome.” And that turning point there, it kind of… the album, from there, it just wrote itself….

We sat, and it kind of wrote itself from that moment. And I was just like, I went through everything and stood by the water. And it felt like I was getting pushed back, and I was, like, OK, something weird’s going on. And I stayed up all night and wrote a bunch of the album that night and… made a bunch of the beats that night.

Last month, Post Malone shared the single “Cooped Up,” featuring Roddy Ricch. He later performed the song with Ricch on Saturday Night Live. Also on SNL, Malone debuted “Love/Hate Letter to Alcohol,” performing it with Fleet Foxes members Robin Pecknold and Christian Wargo, among others. Malone co-wrote “Love/Hate Letter to Alcohol” with Louis Bell and Pecknold.

Speaking about the Fleet Foxes collaboration with Zane Lowe, Malone called Pecknold “a beautiful man.” He continued, “I didn’t quite know what to expect because I’m like, this guy’s a fucking genius. You know, don’t meet your heroes, you know what I mean? And he was the sweetest man in the universe!”

Malone shared his third studio album, Hollywood’s Bleeding, in September 2019. The album featured the chart-topping single “Circles.” At the 2021 Grammy Awards, Malone was nominated for Record of the Year and Song of the Year for “Circles,” as well as Album of the Year for Hollywood’s Bleeding. He also performed “Hollywood’s Bleeding” at the 2021 Grammys.

Following Hollywood’s Bleeding, Post Malone collaborated with Ozzy Osbourne (“It’s a Raid”), Tyla Yaweh (“Tommy Lee”), Big Sean (“Wolves”), DJ Khaled (“I Did It”), Ty Dolla $ign (“Spicy”), Young Thug (“Livin It Up”), and others. He also shared the songs “Motley Crew,” “Only Wanna Be with You (Pokémon 25 Version),” and “Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers Theme.”
