The Ultimatum contestant comes out as proudly bisexual after breaking up with boyfriend

Star of new Netflix reality TV show The Ultimatum, Rae Williams, has come out as bisexual in the show’s reunion episode.

Hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey, The Ultimatum follows six couples who are considering marriage. When one half of the couple is ready to tie the knot but the other is less sure, they issue an ultimatum, with eight weeks to decide whether to get married or break up.

For the first three weeks, the couples swapped partners and moved in together for a “trial marriage”, giving them the chance to see if they would be happier with someone else.

The reunion episode was released on Wednesday (13 April), in which couple Williams and Zay Wilson announced they are no longer together, and Williams is dating a woman.

“I have been with one person, she’s amazing, and I had a really good connection with her but we kept it casual and I’m kind of figuring out myself and my sexuality, because I was very uncomfortable with being bi for a very long time,” she said on the reunion episode.

“Since Zay and I have been done I’ve just been with one girl, and it’s kind of been great, honestly.”

The Ultimatum series two will have an all-queer, mostly-female cast, Netflix announced in March.

Executive producer Chris Coelen told Variety: “It’s [the show] based in a very real relatable conversation and situation for for many, many people – either you’ve been in that situation or you’ve known people who are in that situation.

“What’s fascinating is when you actually look at the reasons that people give for not being ready, there are a multitude of reasons – ‘I come from a family background of bad relationships. I don’t want to repeat my past’ or ‘I’m not ready, I’m too young’ or ‘I need to be financially stable.’

“There may be some validity to some of those reasons, but the real reason is that they’re not sure that they want to marry this person that they’re with. Most of those things that they say are our excuses, and it’s very common.”

Netflix has not yet announced an official release date for The Ultimatum series two.
