Cyberpunk 2077: How To Get The New Byakko Katana | Screen Rant

The Byakko Katana is a new melee weapon that players can get in Cyberpunk 2077, and it’s the only melee weapon that is part of the latest update, patch 1.5. Including the Byakko Katana, the patch included a total of five new weapons such as an SMG, shotgun, assault rifle, and pistol. While each of the weapons is powerful in its own right, the Byakko Katana has a couple of unique perks that also make it stand out from other melee weapons in the game.

What makes the Byakko Katana so special is its legendary quality, which allows players to lunge at their enemy from a short distance. Additionally, the new melee weapon has a significant 35% chance to inflict enemies with the bleeding effect. It’s the same effect that players can get out of the new Bloody Maria shotgun and the new Darra Polytechnic Umbra in Cyberpunk 2077. By using all three of these weapons, players can easily create a nice character build centered around the bleeding effect, which deals additional damage over time.

Similar to other Legendary Katana weapons, the Byakko grants players with reduced stamina usage while they are attacking. Combined with the lunge effect, players can easily use this new melee weapon in Cyberbunk 2077 as they rush down enemy after enemy. Even in an area with little coverage, players can make full use the Byakko’s capabilities with the Kerenzikov cyberwar upgrade. While it isn’t a new upgrade, the legendary Kerenzikov can be implanted in V’s Nervous System slot and allows them to slow time. This is one of the best cyberware upgrades available in Cyberpunk 2077, and when it’s used in unison with close-quarters weapons, players are nearly unstoppable.

Where To Get The Byakko Katana In Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 Iconic Weapons Stash

Unlike many of the other weapons in Cyberpunk 2077, players cannot buy the Byakko Katana from Wilson’s 2nd Amendment store, nor can they find it by looting the streets of Night City or its more hostile NPCs. Instead, this weapon can only be obtained after players complete the final side gig from Wakako Okada called “Professional Widow.” As soon as players complete all other gigs for Wakako, she’ll call V and the side gig will begin immediately. Fortunately, this is one of the easiest side gigs to complete in Cyberpunk 2077.

The only thing players need to do to complete this side gig is head to one of V’s apartments in Cyberpunk 2077 and access their weapon stash. The Byakko Katana will already be in the stash, and players can take it out immediately. Although the weapon doesn’t have any unique mods from the recent update, players can still purchase Katana mods from Wilson’s 2nd Amendment store and apply them to the Byakko in Cyberpunk 2077.
