Adele has vowed that her postponed Las Vegas residency is “absolutely 100 per cent happening this year” as she has “plans” for next year.

Last month, Adele shared on Instagram that she had made the heartbreaking decision to postpone her Las Vegas residency just a day before the opening show. She told fans that the show had been “absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and COVID”.

The Grammy-winning artist elaborated more about her decision to postpone the show in an appearance on The Graham Norton Show.

Adele explained that she “tried my hardest” to “pull something else together” in time, which was why her decision to postpone was so “last minute”.

“It would have been a really half-arsed show, and I can’t do that,” Adele said. “People will see straight through me up on the stage being like ‘she doesn’t want to be doing this’.”

She added: “I’ve never done anything like that in my life, and I’m not going to start now.”

The “Easy On Me” singer said she was “gutted” to have to cancel on her legions of fans.

She was originally set to perform Weekends With Adele at The Colosseum in Caesars Palace to promote her new album 30. Adele was scheduled to do two shows each weekend starting from 21 January until 16 April.

The beloved singer told host Graham Norton that wasn’t ready to officially give a date for her rescheduled Las Vegas residency. But she promised that her team are “working our arses off” to make it the best show possible.

“We are now working our arses off, but I don’t want to announce a new set of dates until I know everything will definitely be ready,” she said. “It is absolutely 100 per cent happening this year.”

She assured fans that the show would be happening sometime in 2022 as she has other plans for next year.

“It has to happen this year because I’ve got plans for next year,” the singer said. “Imagine if I have to cancel because I am having a baby!”

The 33-year-old, who has a nine-year-old son Angelo, admitted it was “exhausting switching on and off” between her life on stage and her personal life.

She explained that it also takes her a “while to recharge” after releasing an album and taking on so many performances, and she planned to “have more children” in the future.

“I will be disappearing in terms of my music, but you might see a glimpse of me now and then and I won’t be in complete hiding,” Adele said.

She continued: “I would like to maybe have more children so it’d be up to them because I only just feel like I’ve caught up with my sleep from nine years ago when I had my son.”

Adele’s appearance on The Graham Norton Show was recorded just hours before the singer made an impromptu appearance at a G-A-Y event at Heaven nightclub in London.

The “Send My Love” singer treated club goers to an amazing pole dance routine and judged a stripping contest alongside Drag Race UK star Cheryl Hole.
