The Hills Alum Whitney Port Is Pregnant Again; Fears Another Unhealthy Pregnancy

Reality TV

Former The Hills New Beginnings star Whitney Port is sharing some bittersweet news.  The 36-year-old took to her YouTube channel Wednesday with husband, Tim Rosenman, to share that she is pregnant.  However, it’s a very delicate situation.  Whitney is only in her first trimester of a high risk pregnancy.  According to an article by Page Six, she suffered multiple miscarriages, and is concerned that she is dealing with “another unhealthy pregnancy.”

“I’m currently seven weeks pregnant, which is supposed to be obviously really exciting,” Whitney said in a recent YouTube video, “and it has been up until yesterday.”

Whitney continued, “I have been going to the doctor and monitoring it because of my history with miscarriages.  I’ve had two miscarriages and a chemical pregnancy. And everything was looking good up until yesterday.”

Diligent monitoring by her doctor revealed that at seven weeks, Whitney’s pregnancy did not resemble a standard one.

“He said that he was pessimistic about this pregnancy, and he told me to get blood drawn,” Whitney explained, “So, I will get blood results back today and see if numbers are going up or going down. He thinks they’ll likely be going down. And he is having me come in for another ultrasound on Monday.”

If there is a window of hope, Whitney and her husband are preparing themselves for the worst case scenario.  She shared with her followers that, “The moral of the story is, this is likely another unhealthy pregnancy. It’s such a huge part of our lives right now, and it affects everything physically and mentally and everything that we do.  And it just felt like an opportunity to just share it, because I couldn’t just sit here and go on with my life and not share it.”

Whitney has found some solace in connecting with the wider community of grieving couples.  “I know that there’s likely so many people out there that have had to deal with this,” she said.

Whitney and Tim were hoping to expand their family of three. Sadly, Whitney is dealing with strong emotions at the prospect of a potentially unattainable dream.  She said, “I definitely feel just scared for myself and my confidence and my self-worth and what this means for that, and also for not being able to give this family what I think would be the best for it.  The emotions are obviously very complicated. I still feel very, very pregnant.”

Concerned fans flooded the comments section with questions and words of encouragement.  In one response, Whitney revealed that during a follow up doctor’s appointment, the couple “heard the heartbeat and saw an embryo to everyone’s surprise.”  Despite the good news, it’s still a “touch-and-go” situation.

One can hope for the best for Whitney and her family, but after a miscarriage in July 2019 and another pregnancy loss in January, it’s easy to understand their concerns.  Also considering the second miscarriage was caused by a medical issue.

At the time, Whitney said that an autopsy of her baby revealed a chromosomal issue.  She explained, “Basically I got a D&C [dilation and curettage] and they did an autopsy, and the doctor said that it was a chromosomal issue, so the baby was not going to be a healthy baby, and I felt like in that way I had a little bit of closure.”

Whitney and Tim married in November 2015 and have a four-year-old son Sonny.
