Thanks to Kim Kardashian, Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow has finally learned what “snatched the house down” means.

Paltrow was introduced to the word “snatched” by her daughter and videographer, Apple Martin, after Kardashian sent her items from her Skims x Fendi collab.

In the video, Paltrow showed her fans the bright pink shapewear, including a bodysuit that Apple says is “so you can get nice and snatched.”

Paltrow looked confused by the word, asking: “What is that?”

Though the unboxing video was meant to be a revelation for fans, it seems that Paltrow was the one who had a revelation after Apple explained the term to her. She wrote over the video: ‘I have now learned that “snatched” means I am killin’ it (?).

Paltrow also held up the bodysuit to the camera after being directed to do a pose by Apple, and again asked, “Is this going to make me look snatched?”

Apple, laughing, responded: “Yeah, 100 per cent, it’s going to snatch the house down.”

Paltrow said afterwards that she felt “successful” in her first unboxing video and thanked both Skims and Kim Kardashian for helping her look “snatched”.

Slang tems like “the house down boots”, which have their origins in the ballroom scene, have exploded into mainstream culture amid the rise of shows including Drag Race and Pose.

The range of intimates delivered to Paltrow come from Kardashian’s latest collaboration line, which launches on November 9.

Apple is Paltrow’s 17-year-old daughter with Coldplay singer Chris Martin. The couple public separated in 2014, in what they called a “conscious uncoupling,” but have remained amicable since. They also share a son, Moses, who is 15.

Martin is currently dating Dakota Johnson, known for starring in Fifty Shades of Grey and How To Be Single, while Paltrow has been married to husband Brad Falchuk, who frequently works with writer Ryan Murphy, since 2018.

Paltrow is the founder of lifestyle and wellness brand Goop, which has also inspired several Netflix docuseries. She most recently starred in Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame
