Below Deck Alum Madison Stalker Says Katie Flood Is A Dream Chief Stew

Reality TV

Katie Flood is being sized up as the new chief stew in the franchise.  She replaced the reigning queen of three stripe epaulets on Below Deck Mediterranean.  Of course that person is alum Hannah Ferrier, who LOVED to remind the crew of her rank at any turn.  Hannah’s performance seemed to nosedive as the seasons went on and her feud with Captain Sandy Yawn progressed.

After Hannah’s termination, Below Deck Mediterranean took on Katie as chief stew.  She has been embraced for her grace and empathy for her crew, perhaps to the point that she avoids confrontation.  Katie is hard working and a team player, but disputes within her team are rising to the surface.  That sounds worse than it is, the real issue is that Lexi Wilson is not happy about doing laundry.  Lexi is also not happy that Katie is rotation tasks between herself and third stew Courtney Veale.

Former Below Deck Sailing Yacht alum Madison Stalker has been keeping tabs on the drama and wants to share her opinion.  Madison had the misfortune of working under a chief stew that fell in love with the chef.  She had to tiptoe through the galley as Jenna MacGillivray and Chef Adam Glick all but made love on the counters.

So it’s not a surprise that Madison is singing Katie’s praises because at least she can maintain a professional demeanor, though it doesn’t look like any sparks are flying between Katie and Chef Mathew Shea.  Madison also commented on Katie’s management strategy of rotating duties between her stews.

Madison posted to her Twitter that, “Katie is a dream Chief Stew. Rotation is how I was taught. Work as a team. No job should be beneath you. Hell, as a 2nd, I’d love being early girl some charters. No one bugs you in laundry.”

Madison may have had equitable and fair training as a stew, but Lexi doesn’t quite come off as someone who appreciates those qualities.  She is quietly stewing and passive aggressively skipping out on assigned tasks.  Noticeably quiet all episode, until Katie picked up on Lexi’s laziness and/or sabotage towards the end of the charter.

Now, Lexi is on the chopping block as a new stew is seen walking aboard on the teaser for next week’s episode.  It looks like Sandy wants to hold onto team members so long as the tip isn’t affected.  Luckily, Katie and bosun Malia White were able to navigate their team members through Hurricane Lexi’s meltdown and if she is fired now, it’s because the charter guests left a lousy tip.

TELL US- WHAT DO YOU THINK OF MADISON’S COMMENTS?  WHAT DO YOU THINK OF KATIE AS A CHIEF STEW?  SHOULD STEWS HAVE TO ROTATE TASKS?
