Jurassic World 3 Director Shares Phil Lord’s Funny Request For The Film

Movies

Colin Trevorrow has revealed the hilarious request that Phil Lord has made for Jurassic World: Dominion. The latest installment in the beloved Jurassic World series is poised to bring back numerous fan-favorite elements such as Sam Neill’s Alan Grant and Laura Dern’s Ellie Sattler. It is currently scheduled to hit theaters next summer.

Jurassic World: Dominion will pick up roughly four years after the events of 2018’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Following the new status quo established by the final moments of the previous film, Dominion will find humans living in a world in which they must now co-exist with dinosaurs. Exploring the ramifications of genetic modification and science run amok, the third installment in the Jurassic World trilogy will reportedly tie together the chronology of the franchise and give the first-ever glimpse at the pre-historic world the dinosaurs occupied before their inevitable extinction event.

Now, with Colin Trevorrow set to return to the Jurassic World franchise with Jurassic World: Dominion, the director has revealed the one hilarious request that Phil Lord keeps making of him. Specifically, the 21 Jump Street director wants to see a brand-new, custom dinosaur called the “Brontosaurus Rex” make an appearance. Check out Trevorrow’s post below:

Most Jurassic Park movies have taken time to spotlight new and unique dinosaurs with each passing movie. However, unlike the previous two installments in the rebooted Jurassic World series, Dominion will not feature any hybrid dinosaurs like the Indominous Rex or Scorpios Rex. As a result, it seems unlikely that (despite 6 years of requests) Phil Lord will not get to see his dream dinosaur with a long neck and tiny arms.

In some ways, it feels as though Phil Lord is speaking for some of the fans of the Jurassic Park franchise with his request. The series taps into a childlike fascination with dinosaurs that really took off in the 1990s with the release of Steven Spielberg’s original film, with many Jurassic fans developing their own favorite dinosaurs through their love of the movies. Sadly, while Phil Lord probably won’t get his request in Jurassic World: Dominion due to the film’s return to real dinosaurs as the emphasis, audiences will get a chance to see the third installment in the Jurassic World series when it hits theaters on June 10, 2022.
