The Voice: Ariana Grande Posts ‘Gentle Reminder’ to Get Vaccinated

Movies

Ariana Grande, the newest judge on The Voice, urged fans to get vaccinated and masked on her Instagram page. “This is your gentle reminder to please get your vaccines if you are eligible. This thing is not yet over!” she wrote. With the Delta variant of the COVID-19 virus spreading rapidly worldwide, the pop sensation felt compelled to reach out to her fans, urging them to not only get vaccinated, but also wear a mask in public.

Ariana went on to elaborate that “This delta variant is very new and since data is changing all the time, I’ll source some links for you to stay up to speed yourself but so far… we do know that it spreads much more easily compared to previous variants.” With 100,000 new cases now being reported daily in the United States, and a majority of them being attributed to the Delta variant and unvaccinated people, Ariana decided to reach out with her “gentle reminder” to please consider getting vaccinated and masked.

Clearly, the sigh of collective relief that was breathed worldwide at the start of the summer as COVID-19 started to recede was premature, as the Delta variant of the virus re-emerged as a new wave of the pandemic and this weighed heavily on Ariana Grande’s mind – enough to make her reach out while wearing a mask.

As the COVID-19 Delta variant appears to be surging among young unvaccinated people, the precise demographic that makes up a majority of Ariana’s fan base, she did the right thing by reaching out with her ”gentle reminder” that is just that – a call to arms (literally) to get vaccinated and masked, which will help slow the spread of the virus. And the photo of her wearing a mask helps to drive her point home.

Ariana wisely avoids being preachy and defers to the information on the Johns Hopkins website, letting her fans decide, based on the information on that website, about the “myths vs. facts” regarding the vaccine. Clearly, Ariana understands her role as an influencer, both as a pop star and a coaching panelist on The Voice, especially among young people, and ends her post with a final call to her followers: “Please and reassure yourself why getting vaxxed is the move. save a life or two.”
