Vicki Gunvalson Doesn’t Get Why Shannon Beador Is Still On Real Housewives Of Orange County; Slams Shannon As Difficult To Work With

Reality TV

Shannon Beador was always difficult to watch for some Real Housewives of Orange County fans.  Shrill, uptight, and defensive from day one.  At first, it could have been blamed on an unhappy marriage to David Beador.  But once the two split-up, and Shannon was finally representing herself, RHOC viewers could see that David only influenced her behavior so much.  Shannon is just…..Shannon.  Shrill, up tight, and defensive.

Even her participation with the Tres Amigas could only spare viewers for so long.  When Vicki Gunvalson left the show after fourteen seasons, it disbanded the friendship between herself, Shannon, and Tamra Judge.  Their drunken rampages were the only watchable moments for Shannon.  Now, we have cringe-worthy moments with new love John Janssen.  Not that Vicki was any better.  Her relationship with Brooks Ayers  brought her to her lowest point by engaging her in a cancer scam.  But once Brooks slithered off, Vicki was still….Vicki.  Now she is whooping it up with Steve Lodge.  And even though she’s left the show, Vicki is ready to give her opinion about the remaining cast.  Namely, her old friend Shannon.

Access hosts Lauren Herbert and Emily Orozco spoke to Vicki about her tenure on the show and what she thinks of Shannon involvement with RHOC.  Vicki firstly brought up her reign as OG of the OC.  “But you know, how many people can say they were on reality TV for 14 years,” she boasted.

“I’ve got Shannon coming in up my ass, but you know.  I don’t know how she stays on for so long,” Vicki said of her rival.  One host asked, “Shannon has staying power huh?” while the other commented, “I’m going to be so honest right now.  I do not understand.”

So nobody understands the Shannon appeal, except that when she really goes off the deep end, it’s great for reality TV.  “I don’t either,” Vicki replied, “she’s tough to work with.  I think she’s on Season 7 now, so she’s got a long way to go.  I don’t think she’ll hit fourteen.”

Clearly, Vicki’s main concern is being dethroned as the maven of Real Housewives staying power.  One has to hand it to her for keeping her job in a very fickle industry.  How did she do it all those years?  Perhaps leaning on Tamra and dishing enough dirt to continuously keep her in conflict with the other cast members.

What will the new season bring for the last remaining of the Tres Amigas?  With Kelly Dodd, Braunwyn Windham-Burke, and Elizabeth Lyn Vargas gone, how will Shannon react to the shuffle up in the cast?  How will Heather DuBrow’s return affect her?  One thing is for sure, she will be shrill, uptight, and defensive but maybe a little bit for fun with the right group of drinking buddies.
