Kelly Dodd is blaming Braunwyn Windham-Burke for being fired from The Real Housewives of Orange County. The Newport Beach native feels she was let go for being conservative, and unsurprisingly, she has not admitted that she was tone-deaf to societal issues.
Leave it to Kelly to make fans think she took bad news well. Earlier this week, Bravo announced that Dodd, Windham-Burke, and Elizabeth Lyn Vargas wouldn’t be welcomed back for season 16. Fans believed Dodd had taken the news well as she tweeted out a touching thank you, but a new outburst on Instagram just goes to show that Dodd is a chameleon when it comes to her emotions.
Instead of looking inward, Dodd decided to share a series of text messages on Thursday showing how she really feels about the firing. The mother of one called out her former castmate, Braunwyn Windham-Burke, after the blonde texted to check in on her. Windham-Burke’s message was simple reading, “I hope you’re okay, I know we’ve been through hell and back, but I’m here.”
A disgruntled Dodd angrily typed back, “This was your fault.” The 45-year-old leaked her own text messages on social media, with fans wondering what she was trying to prove. Dodd went on to claim, “We’d still be on the show if you didn’t make things so dark and ugly and brought all that political ‘woke’ BS.’” The former housewife was irate over alleged lies Windham-Burke spat about her being racist and homophobic. Bravo fans were quick to note that Dodd painted herself in a negative light on her own by mocking the Black Lives Matter Movement and saying the worldwide pandemic was “God’s way of thinning the herd.” To further muddy the waters, Dodd ended her tirade by writing, “The only reason she was fired is that she is gay. What a f**king nut job, classic narcissist!”
It seems far-fetched that Windham-Burke was the sole reason that Dodd was let go. The brunette has always been a contentious housewife and, in recent seasons, had really drunk the Kool-Aid when it came to social issues and FOX News. She married Rick Leventhal, a FOX news anchor, and started making incredibly stupid slip-ups that angered many Bravo viewers. Heather Dubrow was announced as the returning face, to many fans’ joy. Season 15 of The Real Housewives of Orange County was called out for being extremely boring, and the network kept true to its word when it said there would be a shake-up. The leaked text messages by Dodd just feels like a ploy to keep herself relevant.
