Mobster Allegedly Hired By Tommy Manzo Sentenced To Prison Following Attack On Dina Manzo And Her Husband In 2015

Reality TV

Dina Manzo hasn’t appeared on the Real Housewives of New Jersey for several seasons, but maybe that’s because her personal life is like a scene straight out of the Sopranos. Since Dina left the show, she married a new man David Cantin and moved to Malibu to live her best zen life. She’s still close with Teresa Giudice, even though that worries Tre’s ride-or-die Dolores Catania. And while it sounds picture perfect, her ex-husband Tommy Manzo is making her life a living hell.

Back in 2015, Tommy allegedly hired a soldier of the Lucchese crime family, who plead guilty, to attack David with a slapjack outside a strip mall. No, you’re not reading the synopsis from the Godfather movies. The mobster, John Perna, received a discount wedding at the Brownstone, owned by Tommy and Albert Manzo, in exchange for the “job.” And Albert Sr. says they have no mob ties…

And now, the 2015 assault case has come to an end. John, the son of Lucchese capo Ralph Perna, was sentenced on Thursday to two-and-a-half years in prison, the New York Post reports. After he is released, the mobster will have three years of supervised release and is ordered to pay $18,000 in restitution. Looks like that discount wedding came back to bite him in the long run. Tommy already pleaded guilty to hiring John, but has not been sentenced. Probably because he has a whole other assault case involving his RHONJ ex-wife on his hands.

To catch you up to speed, Dina and David were victims of a violent home invasion/robbery in 2017 that was allegedly at the hands of Tommy as well. The assailants waited for the couple to return to their New Jersey home to zip-tie them together, beat them up, and steal their valuables. Totally alarming.

As if Dina wasn’t dealing with enough trauma, RHONJ OG Caroline Manzo is proving to be the worst sister of all time. She’s writing letters to defend Tommy’s character to aid in his case regarding the 2017 home invasion. Yes, the one where not only her new brother-in-law but blood sister was violently attacked. The Manzo bunch is defending Caroline to the grave, putting a whole new meaning on family being “thick as thieves.” At least Dina has finally spoken up to bash her family members for the total betrayal because namaste isn’t always the best way.

Tommy’s been ordered by a judge to stay away from Dina and David, so it’s obvious he’s a threat. Yet, Caroline has proven her loyalty only lies with certain people, like the Gorgas. But only if they’re trying to take down Tre in the meantime.
