Leaked Court Documents Reveal ‘S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2’ Xbox Exclusivity Timeframe, Potential Release Date

Horror

In one of the more “didn’t see that coming” leaks, those PS5 owners wondering just how long Microsoft would have exclusivity over GSC Game World’s S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 now have an answer, thanks to the ongoing Epic Games vs. Apple lawsuit.

Thanks to the PS5 subreddit (with help from the legal research website Court Listener), someone snagged documents pertaining to the lawsuit. The documents reveal (among other things) that the long-awaited follow-up to the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. would have Xbox Series exclusivity for just three months.

Furthermore, the documents list S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 as having a “Q4 2021” release date, though that has yet to be confirmed by either Microsoft, Epic Games or GSC Game World.

Given the proposed release date, it’s not out of the question to speculate that we might be seeing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 at E3 this year. Time will tell, though it’s quite the turnaround for a game that’s been literally decades in the making.
