Jamila Woods and Chicago producer and musician oddCouple have collaborated on a new single titled “Reflections,” releasing it with a new video directed by New Trash Crew. “Reflections” will appear on oddCouple’s new album of the same title, due out later this spring. Check out the song below.

“From the lyrics to the visuals, ‘Reflections’ serves as both a personal thesis statement, and a return to the forefront for me,” oddCouple said in a press release. “It’s only right that after working on this record for years, and growing so much as a person, that I’m able to create this with my most trusted collaborator, Jamila.”

Earlier this week, Woods also teamed up with Peter CottonTale for “Breathe My Name,” a song from Moog Music’s new EP, Explorations in Analog Synthesis.

Since releasing her second album LEGACY! LEGACY! in 2019, Woods has also collaborated with Bruce Hornsby on his Non-Secure Connection track “Bright Star Cast” and Gabriel Garzón-Montano on a remix of “Someone.” Last summer, she released the Toni Morrison–inspired “SULA (Paperback),” which she updated with “SULA (Hardcover)” a few weeks later. She contributed a Slot-A remix of “HEAVN” to a compilation benefiting voter rights.

Zach Henderson, the man behind the oddCouple name, produced songs on Woods’ debut album, 2016’s HEAVN. His next record will follow his oddCouple debut Liberation.
