‘The Bachelor’ Week 3 recap: The ladies stage a coup against Sarah

Reality TV

“The Bachelor” is a hard show to go on. If you think you’re prepared to date 32 women, or date a guy who is dating 32 women, you’re not. It’s going to be weird, and you’re going to struggle.

Matt James has never competed on the franchise, and his rookie status is showing to a fault. He doesn’t know any of the plays.

He doesn’t know that the girl who accuses someone of being there for the wrong reasons usually means that about herself (cough, Victoria). He doesn’t realize that girls who get dates early on always get jealous as the guy finds love elsewhere.

And because of that, Matt got trampled by the women competing for his love. He’s just a pawn on their quest, and they’re out for blood.

This is what went down during Week 3.

The Rose Ceremony (cont.)

Last week’s handout was paused when Sarah, who already had a rose from a date, fainted. Matt rushed to her side. Thankfully, after a quick rest she was feeling better.

Matt sent five ladies home: Alana, Illeana, Kristin, Marylynn, and Sydney.

It sucked to see Marylynn go, because Matt gave villain Victoria exactly what she wanted. Without missing a beat, “Queen” V set her sights on a new victim, Sarah, who now has to go because her faint was deemed “fake.”

Ten gals were tasked with writing erotica about themselves and Matt with the help of “Bachelor” alum Ashley I., which they had to read to the group.

There were a lot of “rock hard muscles” felt while pushing the gals up against walls, blushing and quivering. Some posited about his package. Katie, who you may remember as the dildo girl from the introduction episode, put the bleep button to good use. That Christian boy needed a shot of holy water.

At the after-party, Matt connected with Rachael and they kissed (with his eyes open, his new trademark). Bri, who had a one on one last week, also got a kiss.

Back at the villa, the girls are finally coming to the realization that they’re all dating Matt. “Triggered” by jealousy, Sarah (who had a one on one with him last week) decided to crash the date to tell Matt how hard this is for her.

He told her she just has to have faith and then kissed her, while Katie, whose time with Matt was interrupted, sat awkwardly for him to return. Sarah’s decision to take time away from the girls actually invited onto this date was not received warmly.

After all the hubbub, Matt gave Rachael the rose.

The one on one date

Went to Serena P. But when Matt came to pick her up, he went to see Sarah to make sure she was OK, knowing the girls were mad at her. They made out on her bed while he promised her how much he cares about her.

When Serena P. and Matt finally went on their date, they rode horses and had a picnic. She told him about her dad, who wasn’t entirely supportive of her going on the show. They were interrupted by a heard of donkeys, which was very cute. Serena was catching feelings, and said she’s “falling in like” with Matt.

Over dinner, they both confessed that they’re already growing really strong feelings for one another. Though Matt has thought he was in love before, he knows he hasn’t really been. (Side note: If you dated Matt in the past and are pissed he’s claiming he didn’t really love you, please reach out. It’s not for a story, I’m just nosy.) Serena and Matt kissed, and he gave her a rose.

At the house

Sarah finally confronted the women and repented for taking time away from them. Each woman took turns berating her for her careless decision. She got he message, but the beating continued, with Victoria leading the pack.

The next day, Sarah confided in Katie that she’s leaving the show. The girls aren’t putting her in a good head space, and it’s not worth it because her dad is sick with ALS and has a short time left to live.

Sarah sat with Matt to tell him that she’s leaving. He tried to get her to stay, but she “felt called” to go. Sarah did mention how the girls in the house treated her. “I won’t stop thinking about you,” Matt promised her. “I’m going to miss you.” And the other women should take that as a threat.

Be careful what you promise, Matt.

Prediction

I hope Sarah comes back. I hope Victoria gets a taste of her own medicine (she won’t). More women will show up. Oh, and the promos show the gals spreading rumors about one of them being an escort. Sure.
