Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Mary Cosby is certainly unique. First of all, Mary is married to her step-grandfather. This was orchestrated by her grandmother so that Mary could inherit her grandmother’s church. The unlikely couple has been married for 22 years and have a son. But it is still cringy-worthy.
Mary, who is a Pentecostal minister, was accused of speaking to her congregation in a less than loving way. There is an audio recording of the RHOSLC cast member allegedly insulting poor members of her church. “I don’t want no poor people around me,” Mary supposedly said in the recording. “Poor as hell. And if you ain’t poor, you’re stingy, so you’re still poor.” Her congregation must be really feeling the love.
According to Bravo’s The Daily Dish, Mary was quizzed about any regrets from the season during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live. During a game of “Do! You! Regret It!?” host Andy Cohen grilled Mary and discovered she had only one regret. So, does Mary regret the hospital smell comment? No. Or always pointing out all her designer labels? Nope.
What she does regret is her remarks about her long-suffering longtime housekeeper, Charlinda. In an earlier episode this season, Mary introduced us to Charlinda, and Mary’s comments were…deplorable. “Charlinda is my grandmother’s brother’s daughter, and she’s been with me for like 20-something years,” Mary explained. “I had Robert [Mary’s son], and she came over to give Robert a present and fell in love and didn’t leave.”

Now that story is already bizarre, but it gets worse. Mary added, “We’re not close at all. Like, I don’t know her life and what she does outside of what she helps me with. But at the end of the day, we’re family.” Seriously?
Mary admitted that she regretted her statements about Charlinda and tried to make herself look better clarify her comments. “I regret not conveying that the proper way, because I know all about Charlinda. So [I] maybe regret the way I expressed it,” Mary said. “Yes, I do.”
