Jedi: Fallen Order Swaps Cal For John Wick In Keanu Reeves Mod

Movies

Not satisfied with just conquering Night City, Keanu Reeves is now ready to take on the Star Wars universe thanks to a new Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order mod. EA’s single-player Star Wars success story is just over a year old, but the game is even more fresh to most PC players thanks to its successful launch on Steam late last year. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is more proof that Titanfall and Apex Legends developer Respawn Entertainment knows its way around a good story, which will hopefully feed into its next project’s possible new universe.

As for publisher EA, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order‘s launch seemed to mark a turning point for its fortune as the sole proprietor of Star Wars games. Star Wars Battlefront II is well-liked by those who still play it (which more players can do for free soon thanks to the Epic Store). Star Wars: Squadrons was a niche title in several ways, but it certainly found its audience, and there are few who didn’t enjoy the Souls-lite gameplay of Jedi: Fallen Order. In fact, considering the state of Disney’s slate of Star Wars media, the video games might finally be ahead of the films in terms of delivering experiences players actually enjoy from the galaxy far far away.

While Disney hasn’t publicly reached out to Keanu Reeves to appear in one of its countless planned Star Wars projects, NexusMods creator XOGAMERMARK69 decided to see what that would look like in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. As seen in a showcase video by YouTuber Bombastic, the alteration is a simple model swap that removes the roguish good looks of main character Cal and subs in the breathtaking mug of Keanu Reeves. The mod also seems to sub in the robes and armor of Darth Vader over Cal’s normal attire, although it’s unclear if players can change that once they’re in-game.

Jedi: Fallen Order modders have been very busy since the game’s release, so players on PC have a lot more than just adding the galaxy far far away equivalent of John Wick to look forward to. From the expected full unlock saves and speed boosts to Star Wars fan service like even more lightsaber colors, there are pages of tweaks players can go through to make their second or third playthrough unique. There’s even one mod that offers the option to remove BD-1 from Cal’s shoulder during gameplay, although it’s hard to imagine anyone being so cold-hearted as to download it.

Whether traipsing through the galaxy, avenging a beloved pet, or venturing through time and space, the various Hollywood characters of Keanu Reeves makes him a perfect fit for the lead role of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Whether the mod goes as far to include voice lines or other model swaps or just stops here, YouTubers and curious players already have a goofy way to go through Respawn’s take on the Star Wars universe. Although the developer seems to be moving onto a new IP in the near future, here’s hoping that Cal’s adventures continue sooner rather than later. Even if Cal’s face can change on PC, he’s still a character worth following up on.
