Watch Hayley Williams Cover Massive Attack’s “Teardrop”

Music, News

Hayley Williams performed a cover of Massive Attack’s “Teardrop,” from their 1998 album Mezzanine, as part of The Ally Coalition’s 7th Annual Talent Show. Williams performed the song in what appears to be a bedroom, in a bathrobe with her hair wrapped in a towel. Check it out below.

The event was livestreamed for free from Jack Antonoff’s Twitch account to raise money for homeless LGBTQ+ youth. Sleater-Kinney, Brittany Howard, Lana Del Rey, Clairo, and others joined the stream, which mostly featured covers of other artists’ work as well as 1-minute bits from comedians such as Reggie Watts, Aidy Bryant, and Mike Birbiglia.

Williams released her solo debut Petals for Armor in May, but was forced to postpone the supporting tour until 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
