Mary Cosby Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City

Real Housewives of Salt Lake City certainly has some interesting cast members. One of the most interesting is Mary Cosby. So, what do we know about Mary so far?

In the most recent episode of RHOSLC, the ladies hit the ski slopes, but Mary was more interested in making snow angels. Well, to each their own. She was late because she was waiting for a package containing a new coat for the outing.

Mary is a Pentecostal minister. And how can I put this delicately? Mary is married to her step-grandfather. It was a condition in her grandmother’s will so that Mary could take over the family businesses.

The duo has been married for 22 years, so obviously their marriage is working. I just find it so cringe-worthy and odd.

Mary is also completely unfiltered, and unapologetic. RHOSLC co-star Jen Shah had some prior issues with Mary. Jen went to visit her sick aunt in the hospital, and then met up with Mary and some other pals. Unfortunately, Jen’s aunt had both of her legs amputated. After greeting each other, Mary commented that someone in the group “smelled like hospital.”

In the premiere episode of RHOSLC, Jen threw her friend Meredith Marks a birthday party, which was naturally all about Jen. Isn’t everything?

Mary and Jen clashed over the hospital remark. Then Mary doubled way down in her confessional, saying, “Well her legs are already gone so what do you want me to do about it?” Yikes!

Mary tried to share with Jen why she has such a strong reaction to the hospital smell. “I have a bad, dark place going to hospital. I had to have 12 surgeries getting all my odor glands removed,” Mary shared.

“The worst experience of my life. Like, dark, very dark. I mean, they lost me twice. Literally, I was dying on the table two times,” she added.

That’s right–Mary had her odor glands removed. I didn’t even know that was possible. According to Bravo’s The Daily Dish, Mary discussed the surgical procedure on the November 11 episode  of the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen After Show.

Mary revealed, “I have an autoimmune [disease] where it causes my body to attack my odor glands, and when they attack them, they cause big boils. So I was getting boils everywhere, so my doctor suggested I remove all the odor glands,” she stated. That sounds very unpleasant, and I am sure it left Mary with some bad memories.

Eventually Mary and Jen hugged it out, but there is no way that Jen is letting that hospital smell comment go. Ever.
