Bright Eyes Share New Song “Miracle of Life” to Benefit Planned Parenthood: Listen

Music, News

Bright Eyes have shared a new song to benefit Planned Parenthood. “Miracle of Life” is available exclusively on Bandcamp until October 28. Conor Oberst and Phoebe Bridgers sing on the track, which features electric piano and synthesizers from Nathaniel Walcott, electric guitar and pedal steel from Mike Mogis, bass from Flea, and drums by Jon Theodore. Listen to “Miracle of Life” below.

In a press release, Conor Oberst said:

This song should not exist in 2020 America. It is a protest song, I guess. Or maybe just a little story about what was, what still is in many parts of the world and what could be again here in this country if the GOP is successful in reshaping the Supreme Court and rolling back all of the hard fought progress made for reproductive rights in the last 50 years. Hopefully, if we all work together and vote, it will make this song sound as irrelevant and outdated as it should.

This Sunday, October 25, Bright Eyes will perform at Planned Parenthood’s virtual Village of Love festival. The fest will also feature Angel Olsen, Kathleen Hanna, Phoebe Bridgers, Weyes Blood, Perfume Genius, and Tenacious D. The event kicks off at 9 p.m. Eastern on Sunday. Check out the full lineup in the poster below.

Ahead of the festival, there is a silent auction that includes items from Ad-Rock, Best Coast, Ty Segall, Tame Impala, and more. The auction runs until October 30. Proceeds benefit Planned Parenthood of Los Angeles and New York. Check out the auction’s poster below, too.
