Mary Fitzgerald and husband Romain were legally married before ‘Selling Sunset’ began

Double take.

“Selling Sunset” stars Mary Fitzgerald and Romain Bonnet tied the knot in a civil ceremony a year and a half before their Netflix wedding.

Fitzgerald, 40, and Bonnet, 27, legally married on March 9, 2018 at the Ventura Courthouse, TMZ reported. However, the couple had fans believe that they actually said “I do” at a home that Fitzgerald sold on the day of their October 12, 2019 nuptials.

Fitzgerald, who was previously married, had her divorce finalized on November 6, 2017 — just four months before she and Bonnet went to the courthouse.

Their officiant at their televised nuptials, Nicole Young, signed their marriage certificate as a witness.

“Mary and Romain had a civil union a couple of months before the show began filming in June of 2018, but they chose not to tell any of their friends or family, as they were still trying to see if their relationship would work out in the long term,” a rep for the couple told us, adding, “In their minds, they weren’t properly married until the wedding that was filmed during the show.”
