Film Review: “For The Love of Jessee”

Movies

David McAbee has co-written and directed this dramatic, full of heart, happy-ending film, “For The Love of Jessee” along with producer Curta Schlarbaum. Starring in the movie is the iconic Adrienne Barbeau, Randy Wayne, Tony Denman, Mandahla Rose, Bre Blair, and Manu Intiraymi. The film’s Digital release date was May 1, 2020.

The premise of the film: “Dr. Luke Matthew’s (Randy Wayne) world comes to a devastating halt when he loses the love of his life during childbirth. Simultaneously Sage (Mandalha Rose) experiences her own tragedy when her baby is stillborn. Coincidently and unexpectedly, Sage becomes the nanny of Dr. Matthew’s baby….and then the drama begins. Adrienne Barbeau portrays Katharyn, Matthew’s sometimes cold and manipulative mom, while Tony Denman plays Sean his best friend.

The plot is simple, yet entangled amidst intrigue, soft humor and much emotion. Although the film has several captivating twists, all ends well when the characters realize the best form of medicine is letting go.

The movie grabs your attention right from the very beginning and holds on to it throughout it’s 90 minute duration. The scenery and cinematography is beautiful. The actors had a great vibe together and baby Jessee was adorable. I would be looking forward to a sequel or at least another David McAbee movie.
