Music, News

Last year, Drake earned his ninth consecutive No. 1 album with Care Package, a compilation of tracks originally released between 2010 and 2016. Now, with the release of his most recent project Dark Lane Demo Tapes, Drake’s No. 1 streak has ended. According to Billboard, the new mixtape debuted at No. 2, while Kenny Chesney’s latest album Here and Now reached the No. 1 spot.

Drake’s nine consecutive No.1 LPs all occurred within 10 years, starting with his 2010 release Thank Me Later. When Drake’s 2018 album Scorpion debuted at No. 1, it marked the biggest overall debut week of any album in 2018, raking in 732,000 equivalent album units. It also officially tied Drake with Kanye West, Eminem, and the Beatles for the longest streak of No. 1 records.
