Filipe Duarte, Voice Actor in ‘Days Gone’, Passes Away at 46

Filipe Duarte, a Portuguese actor known across film and television in his native country, who also voiced Sony’s Days Gone protagonist Deacon St. John, has unfortunately passed away. Duarte died Friday due to a heart attack at the age of 46.

Eric Jensen, Bend Studio’s Lead Open World Designer for Days Gone, took to Twitter to pay tribute to Duarte. Sony’s Portuguese PlayStation Twitter also paid tribute.

Prior to Days Gone, Duarte was most well-known for his roles across theatre, television, and films in Portugal. He was especially well-known from his roles in soap operas and Portuguese TV series. He was also nominated for several Portuguese Golden Globes Awards and CinEuphoria Awards, winning the 2015 Portuguese Golden Globe for Best Actor for the TV series, The Invisible Life.

Most recently, Duarte was seen in films such as Mosquito and Variações: Guardian Angel, and recently completed work for Nothing Ever Happened, which is currently in post-production.
