Kelis Announces New Cannabis-Themed Netflix Cooking Show

Kelis has announced Cooked with Cannabis, her new cooking competition show on Netflix. The six-episode series will be co-hosted by the singer and the chef Leather Storrs.

Each episode features three pro chefs tasked with creating a three-course cannabis-infused meal for a $10,000 prize. The first season features a rotating cast of dinner guests, including Ricki Lake, Too $hort, and El-P. In an Instagram post, the singer said: “As a chef, I was intrigued by the food and as an everyday person, I was interested in how powerful this topic is in today’s society. In this country, many things have been used systematically to oppress groups of people, but this is so culturally important for us to learn and grow together.”

Last month, Kelis announced the 20th anniversary reissue of her debut album Kaleidoscope. The final dates of her European tour to support it were postponed due to COVID-19-related public health concerns.
