My Chemical Romance Postpone Australian and New Zealand Concerts Due to Coronavirus

Music, News

My Chemical Romance have postponed their Australian and New Zealand dates on the band’s upcoming reunion tour. MCR were scheduled to kick off the trek on March 20 in Melbourne, Australia, then play Sydney the following night before heading to a concert in Auckland New Zealand on March 25. Now, the shows have been pushed back to an unknown date as a result of the global coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

“It is with heavy hearts that we have decided to postpone our performances in Australia and New Zealand,” the band wrote in a tweet. “We felt this was the right decision for our fans, our band, our crew, and our families given the current global situation.” Find their full statement below.

Two of the postponed dates on MCR’s itinerary were at Download Festival. Following MCR’s decision to pull out of those events, Deftones announced that the festival organizers have “decided to cancel the shows, and our tour as a result.” Scroll down to find their full tweet.
