Hot SXSW Title ‘The Toll’ Set to Screen in Austin and Los Angeles!

Horror

The SXSW Film Festival was set to kick off this week in Austin, Texas, and one of the highlights of the Midnight program was The Toll, the Michael Nader-directed psychological thriller that was to World Premiere this coming Sunday, March 15th.

The cancellation of the festival has hurt a lot of independent films and filmmakers, with the hype they had hoped to find at SXSW used to launch sales and a release. Personally, I don’t see any reason we can’t still keep the buzz cranked to ten. The Alamo Drafthouse agrees.

Bloody Disgusting is excited to not only share the poster premiere for The Toll, but also announce that the psychological horror film will have a special screening at Alamo Drafthouse in both Los Angeles, CA and Austin, Texas this coming Sunday, March 15th, the same night it was to premiere at SXSW! TICKETS ARE FREE!

In the film, a young woman (Jordan Hayes) and her rideshare driver (Max Topplin) break down on a dark forest road. Each sees the other as a threat. But as strange phenomena begin occurring around them, they gradually realize they’ve become trapped in the world of a terrifying supernatural being: The Toll Man.

TO OBTAIN TICKETS: It’s simple, just RSVP to TheTollRSVP@gmail.com with tickets coming on a first come, first serve basis. There will be a Q+A with director Michael Nader at both locations. Arrive early, get some popcorn, and spread the word on Twitter following the screening using #TheToll.
