A new era of Vanderpump Rules is upon us. The “kids” we’ve been watching for seven seasons are all grown up. Well, sort of. When Season 8 kicks off, Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright are planning their wedding and getting settled in their new home.
Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz invite everyone over to celebrate their new house. Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix abandoned their apartment for a house as well. But, the new season isn’t all about real estate and maturity.
Even though it’s only episode one, we already begin to see the cracks in Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute’s friendship. And, quite frankly, we also see the cracks in Kristen’s friendships with Katie and Lala Kent as well. And it all comes back to Kristen’s kind-of-sort-of-ex-boyfriend Brian Carter. They aren’t together, but she’s still funding his life and hooking up with him. Lala, Katie, and Stassi are sick of hearing about it and just seem to be tired of Kristen’s shit in general.
Lisa Vanderpump makes an appearance this episode as well, but surprisingly, not for the Kristen bashing, which we know she enjoys. Instead, she talks with Lala about Lala’s sobriety. I wish she showed up for Katie and Tom’s party instead. That would have been hilarious to see her out of her element among the hard partying and drunken drama.

Jax and Tom Sandoval have tension over their new houses and Tom skipping out on Jax’s “pre bachelor party.” I just feel bad for Schwartz. I feel like he’s gonna be stuck in the middle of this bro on bro drama all season long.
And then there’s the arrival of the new cast members. Scheana Marie has a past with Max Boyens, the Tom Tom general manager. Max has a present with new cast member Dayna Kathan, who is probably gonna argue with Scheana at some point this season. Scheana also clearly has something going with new SURver Brett Caprioni. This is gonna be good. I can feel it.

It sounds like we are in for a lot of drama and overlapping relationships this season. I’m so ready.
