While several stars have been baked in controversy after past problematic tweets came to light, singer Tinashe continues to be a beacon of hope.

This month, pop artists Slayyyter and Camila Cabello were caught in the crossfire after racist tweets were unearthed by fans.

As some fans called for cancelled parties and others questioned the authenticity of the stars’ apologies, some tweets of Tinashe’s have been excavated, too.

But this tranche of tweets is no cause for alarm.

Fans show how spotless Tinashe’s Twitter record is on LGBT+ rights.

Tweeting while she was aged 15 to 16, the ‘Slumber Party’ singer wasn’t mis-using slurs or making ‘open to interpretation’ comments. No ‘offensive comments’ that would later be swept under the rug.

Instead she was advocating for equal marriage in 2009 or encouraging her fans that it “will get better” in 2010.

Considering that the tweeting track records of celebrities often come to haunt them – though, some make sincere apologies and make an effort to demonstrate their growth within 24 hours of the accusations  – Tinashe’s pro-LGBT stance were a solid reason to stan her:

Earlier this year, the 26-year-old artist opened up about her sexuality, where she said she is attracted to both men and women and does not wish to label her sexual identity.

“I don’t necessarily want to put a title on it, ‘cause as soon as you put a title on it, people, you know, put it into a category where it has to be 50/50,” Tinashe told Rolling Stone.

“But I definitely know that I have an attraction to everyone and I love everybody.”
