Story-Focused DLC For ‘The Outer Worlds’ Coming Next Year

Despite walking away empty-handed amongst stacked competition at The Game Awards last Thursday, Obsidian has announced that their sci-fi RPG The Outer Worlds (read our review) that the game will be receiving DLC.

In a post on the official Obsidian forums, Social Media Manager Shyla announced that in addition to thanking fans for their support during the voting for The Game Awards (which had The Outer Worlds nominated in the Best Narrative, Best Performance, Best RPG, and Game of the Year categories), the team is currently working to “[expand] the story [of The Outer Worlds] through DLC next year”.

Details about the DLC weren’t forthcoming, but “will be made available at a later date.” The Outer Worlds is slated to arrive on the Nintendo Switch sometime in early 2020, so perhaps the DLC would arrive around that time as well.

The Outer Worlds is available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
