Tim McGraw Says Looking Fat In Four Christmases Led To His Major Weight Loss

Movies

Personal transformations can be attributed to many factors in a person’s lifestyle. Sometimes, if you’re Russell Crowe or Christian Bale, you’ll change figure at the drop of a hat to play various career-making roles. But for actor/musician Tim McGraw, all it took was for his daughter to tell him he looked a bit bigger in the film Four Christmases for him to shed 40 pounds and adopt a healthier outlook.

Now I know what you’re thinking: Tim McGraw looks pretty damned good for himself nowadays. And you’re absolutely right, the dude still looks fantastic! But back in 2008, when the Reese Witherspoon/Vince Vaughn romantic comedy Four Christmases was released, McGraw looked like a totally different man, as you can see at the top of the page.

By no stretch of the imagination does Tim McGraw look totally horrific in Four Christmases, but as the man himself admitted to Men’s Health, he slipped a little bit with his eating and exercise habits. Acknowledging this to himself, McGraw started on a path to rehabbing his waistline and his personal routine.

What began as a morning walk turned into a 20 minute run, and eventually a regimen that he still follows to this day. Special exercise moves and workouts with his band hours before gigs have helped keep Tim McGraw in the tip top shape you’ve seen him in, with movies such as Tomorrowland and various other projects reflecting his good work.

Much like this year’s “based on a true story” narrative Brittany Runs A Marathon, Tim McGraw made small changes to his lifestyle, which lead to larger alterations and ultimately a healthy present. He’s worked to earn the body he currently holds, and all that it took was a little bit of inspiration from someone he loved.

You can’t argue with the results either, as this recent post Tim McGraw made on his Instagram, to promote his new wellness book, shows a difference from even the second image we showed you:

While Tim McGraw hasn’t acted in too many movies as of late, he does have a new book that was recently released: Grit & Grace: Train the Mind, Train the Body, Own Your Life. In the meantime, if you’re looking for something to see in the theaters, even if it’s pretty much a McGrawless wasteland, you can head over to the 2019 release schedule, as well as our 2020 calendar, depending on how far into the future you want to go.
