At this point, it feels like every reality TV has their own podcast. Remove Southern Charm star Shep Rose from that list though. He has thrown in the towel. This is logical considering how Shep’s viewpoints have caused a lot of trouble in recent months.
He had the nerve to make fun of a homeless woman collecting cans and he posted a video with his commentary to social media. He doubled down on his “humor,” refusing to apologize before he eventually did (barely). Shep used to provide Southern Charm viewers with lovable fun, but now it’s just tough to watch.
He spent most of last season referring to Madison LeCroy as “trash.” He also put that same label on Kathryn Dennis. He even wondered if Naomie Olindo’s boyfriend Metul Shah has “controlling ways” because he’s from India…. even though Metul is from Washington, D.C. Not only that, but Shep is (clearly) the last person who should chime in on a conversation about gender equality.
The cast spent an entire segment at the reunion talking about Shep’s elitist attitude and his refusal to apologize for anything he says. So, who would want to listen to a podcast showcasing Shep’s views? Well, actually, there probably is someone who nods their head when Shep speaks during Southern Charm episodes. There are (probably) a lot more people who shake their heads in response though.

Shep’s burner account tweeted One fan tweeted Shep to ask “what happened to your podcast??? i was enjoying it.” And in response, Shep quoted the tweet and added “The short version is…”i was having to bird dog guests, it was restricting my travel and causing me unwanted stress. I did enjoy talking to folks though. We’ll see in the future.”
It really had nothing to do with all of the recent backlash Shep has received? Sure.
