Sam Raimi hasn’t directed a horror film since Drag Me to Hell back in 2009, and we’ve learned the incredible news via THR tonight that his next movie will be…a horror movie!
Raimi is directing an untitled horror film for Columbia Pictures, penned by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift (Freddy vs. Jason, Friday the 13th 2009).
The site notes that while plot details are under wraps for now, the film is being described as “Misery meets Castaway.”
“I am thrilled to be reunited with Columbia Pictures,” said Raimi. “I have been a fan of Shannon and Swift and we have found the perfect adventure to share with the world.”
