Halloween Kills to be set in Haddonfield Memorial Hospital

Horror

Principal photography is underway for the follow-on to last year’s hugely successful Halloween (itself a direct sequel to the original 1978 movie). Titled, Halloween Kills, fans will be happy to learn that it will star the matriarch of scream queens, Jamie Lee Curtis, continuing to reprise her role as Laurie Strode. Nick Castle will also be back to play Michael Myers. Confirmed in the last couple days is that Charles Cyphers, forty years removed from playing the original Sheriff Brackett, will reprise that role. Judy Greer and Andi Matichak will be back to play Laurie Strode’s daughter and granddaughter respectively.

Halloween Kills will be released in theaters on October 16, 2020. Halloween Ends will conclude the latest iteration of the franchise and is set to be released in 2021. All films will be directed by David Gordon Green.

Curtis took to Twitter on the first day of filming (October 8th) and tweeted: NEVER SAY DIE! First day back in the battle for my life! #HalloweenMovie #HalloweenKills.

There are no details yet about the story for the 2020 movie, although it is rumored that Laurie Strode may not survive. Interestingly, even though Green seeks a reimagining of the franchise, Halloween Kills will be set in Haddonfield Memorial Hospital, where the original sequel was set.

This should be fun. For all horror fans who were underwhelmed by the Rob Zombie remakes of Halloween and Halloween 2, last year’s sequel to the original was at least watchable and continuing to have Jamie Lee Curtis involved for next year’s follow-on can’t be a bad thing.
