Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) learned of the impending Judgment Day in James Cameron‘s sci-fi slasher Terminator, which was revealed in the film’s sequel to take place on August 29th, 1997.

In Terminator 2: Judgment Day, which took place in 1995, Sarah and her son John believe they have stopped the apocalypse by destroying recovered technology that would lead to the creation of Skynet, a supercomputer with artificial intelligence that would nuke the planet.

The truth is, nothing can stop fate.

Paramount Pictures has released the newest trailer for Terminator: Dark Fate, which takes place in the days following what would have been Judgment Day. In it, we learn that the apocalypse is still coming.

In the film, Sarah Connor and a hybrid cyborg human (Mackenzie Davis) must protect a young girl (Natalia Reyes) from a newly modified liquid Terminator (Gabriel Luna) from the future. Edward Furlong returns to his John Connor role in some unknown capacity (rumors).

Can mankind escape its dark fate? We’ll find out on November 1st, 2019.
