“John’s unwavering dedication to the Morgan’s mission to celebrate and share the history and process of human creativity will not be forgotten,” the announcement continued. “We extend our deepest sympathies to Connie Morgan and all the members of the Morgan family.”

Sonja, 61, and John, a descendent of U.S. presidents John Adams and John Quincy Adams, married in 1998 and divorced in 2006 four years before she joined RHONY in season three.

John’s father, Henry Sturgis Morgan, was the cofounder of Morgan Stanley and his great-grandfather J.P. Morgan founded J.P. Morgan & Co.

In addition to his political and financial ties, John was also quite the athlete. He competed at the 1952 Olympics where he won a gold medal in the six meter class sailing race.

Sonja, as well as John’s fifth wife and widow Connie, have yet to speak out publicly on his death.
